The Hardest Part Isn't Finding Your Purpose. It's Creating Enough Quiet to Hear It.

Two summers ago,I came to the Hamptons for the same reason I always do.

To reset.

To slow down.

To create enough space to hear myself think.

I wasn't trying to write another book.

I wasn't searching for a new business idea.

I certainly wasn't imagining I'd soon be teaching a workshop inspired by what happened next.

But somewhere between long walks, quiet mornings, and the rhythm of the ocean, an idea began to take shape.

That idea became Create Your Own Table.

Looking back now, I realize something I couldn't see at the time.

I wasn't searching for a new life.

I was making space to hear the one that had been calling me all along.

It makes me wonder how many of us are doing the exact opposite.

We fill every moment.

We stay busy.

We keep moving.

Not because we don't have answers, but because slowing down feels uncomfortable.

Then we tell ourselves the dream is too late.

The business idea has passed.

The book isn't worth writing.

The career change isn't realistic.

The opportunity belongs to someone younger, someone smarter, someone more qualified.

But what if those ideas aren't gone?

What if they've simply been waiting for enough quiet to be heard?

I've spent the last decade helping people recognize the value of their own experiences. One of the most common things I hear is, "I don't know what my purpose is."

I've come to believe that's rarely the real problem.

More often, the problem is that we've become so consumed with responsibilities, expectations, and constant noise that we've stopped listening to ourselves.

Purpose doesn't always arrive as a lightning bolt.

Sometimes it appears in a quiet moment.

A walk.

A journal.

A conversation.

A weekend away.

A decision to finally make space for yourself.

That realization became the foundation for Create Your Own Table, first as a book, and now as a workshop.

In just a few weeks, I'll have the privilege of leading this experience at Omega Institute. Together, we'll create the space to reflect, reconnect with the wisdom we've already earned through our lives, and begin building a practical roadmap for what's next.

If you've been feeling that quiet pull toward something more, I hope you'll listen to it.

And if you've been thinking about joining me, I want you to know that Omega will soon make its final enrollment decision based on registration.

I'd love the opportunity to spend that weekend with you.

Because your next chapter isn't waiting for more time.

It's waiting for one decision.
